Firemen’s & Rescue Squad Workers’ Pension Fund – State of North Carolina
If you are a retiree who participated in this supplemental retirement fund through the State of North Carolina and are approaching Age 55, you should apply for this benefit about three months before your 55th birthday. You can download the brochure and forms by visiting www.nctreasurer.com. Your application must be notarized. Send the completed forms to Emily Lineberger at the CFD General Office. Emily will obtain the Chief’s signature and send the forms to the State Retirement Office in Raleigh. It is your responsibility to apply for these benefits; you will not be contacted by the State Retirement Department. Please note that when you have an address change, you MUST also send it in writing to the below address:

Contact Changes – Are you moving? Did you move? New phone number?
Please remember that whenever you move, temporarily or permanently, it is important to let us know by sending the address change to the CFRS office. It should include the retiree’s or Power of Attorney’s signature, and you should also note if this is a temporary or permanent address change. This will assist with communication, ensure that you receive your benefits in a timely manner and for tax withholding purposes. Verbal, email and USPS forwarding order stickers on a return envelope, does not satisfy auditor’s requirements.
